Alkyl Polyglycosides (APG)
Alkyl Polyglycosides (APG) is a nonionic surfactant, which is made from regrowable plant raw materials. It is natural, mild, and green product. Compare with petrochemicals, it shows sustainable development, and is named as new generation “global” green surfactant after soap, LAS, AEO, and AES. Its surface tension is low with strong decontamination power. It has good solubility, heat-resisting, alkaline resistant, high concentration of electrolyte resistant, and thickening effectiveness. APG has good compatibility that it is compatible with ionic or nonionic surfactant to bring synergized action, and it can improve the mildness of recipe. It has excellent foaming ability. The foam is rich, fine, and stable. It shows good compatibility with skin. APG is non-toxicity, non stimulation to skin and readily biodegradable.
Applications
APG is very mild, low stimulation to body, and has wetting and soft effect to skin. It also is not stimulation to eye, has good care to hair, shows good ecological compatibility. So it can be widely used in personal care products and household detergents: shampoo, bath lotion, facial cleanser, hand cleanser, and bath liquid, etc. It can also be used in makeup, transparent soap, laundry detergent, and dishwashing detergent of daily detergent field. It is especially accepted by consumers of pregnant woman and infant. Its superior properties include good solubility, penetrability, and compatibility in strong acid, alkali, and electrolyte solution. It has not corrosive effects to materials. There are not residues after wash, and not craze with stress. It is especially suitable for dishwashing detergents, household detergents, hard surface cleaning, refining agents which is heat-resisting and alkaline resistant in textile industry, and vesicant used in petroleum exploitation, etc. As a green environmental friendly surfactant, APG can also used as good vesicant in bubble water. When APG products are stored at room temperature, there would be crystalline precipitate or turbidity, which has no negative impacts on the properties. The turbidity disappears when the pH is adjusted to below 9. APG can also be prepared with various active content and pH according to customers needs.
